Showtime series Weeds begins it’s sixth season run tonight. Once one of the most original dramedies on television, Weeds has become monotonous. The story of the pot-dealing soccer mom was a welcome change to the tv landscape, yet it feels like the stories have run out. In fact, I’ve felt this way for the past couple seasons. The only saving grace to the show over the past couple seasons has been the excellent performances by Kevin Nealon. He is the only one that delivers laughs to the show. This season we see Nancy dealing with the consequences of Shane (her son) murdering someone (who, in all fairness, threatened to murder Nancy and her children). This season definitely won’t be one that I have to watch live. This one will be relegated to DVR and free time.
