Current Price is Right host Drew Carey is teaming up with the Game Show Network for a new primetime show.
GSN has made a 40-episode committment to the concept, which will feature Carey’s actor-comedian friends participating in a half-hour of unscripted sketch comedy. The show will be shot at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and premiere in the spring.
I’m not sure what the “game” part of this show is, but I’m sure we’ll hear more as details surface. If the show includes the improv comedians that appeared on Whose Line is it Anyway, I’ll be watching. Colin Mochrie and Ryan Stiles were great on Whose Line and I hope they participate in this new show. I love improv and was sad to see Whose Line go off the air.
In 2004-2005, Drew Carey also co-produced and starred in Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show, a spin-off of Whose Line Is It Anyway?. That was canceled by WB rather quickly so I never got to see it.
