TV Guide is reporting that The Big Bang Theory is upping recurring guest star Mayim Bialik to series regular.
Bialik, 34, first appeared in the Season 3 finale as Amy Fowler, a quasi-love interest for Sheldon.
The former Blossom star’s contract is for the current season only and does not stipulate that she appear in every episode, according to the site.
News follows last month’s promotion of Melissa Rauch, who plays Howard’s girlfriend Bernadette.
This is not good news to me. I really can’t stand Mayim Bialik’s role on the show. I think it’s fine that Sheldon has a weird love-interest, and it’s only natural that she be as awkward as him, but I don’t think Mayim Bialik fits. Something about her just irritates me. The last thing I want is to see her in more and more episodes.
