Showtime has posted a 3 minute first look at its new historical drama, The Borgias.
The Borgias is about the notorious Renaissance era dynasty and is a period drama that will continue in the style of The Tudors.
Jeremy Irons will star as Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning and manipulative patriarch of The Borgia family in Italy. The period drama will tell the story of Rodrigo Brogia, his beautiful daughter Lucrezia Borgia and of his Machiaveillan sons. The Borgia family had a reputation for being power hungry and conniving that survives to this day. The Borgia family became the most powerful family of the Italian Renaissance era.
I was a huge fan of The Tudors, though not until after the series ended, so I have high expectations for The Borgias. Can’t wait to watch it.
