Daily for 2-27-2011

It’s been a few days since I’ve last updated because of a death in the family. Because of this, I missed a bunch of TV news that I will not recap in a Daily. Here it goes.

Don Johnson has been cast in a pilot for NBC called Mann’s World. He will play the title character, Mann, a celebrated (and straight) hairdresser in his 50s who is struggling to stay young and relevant in a business fixated on youth.

Jo Koy has been cast in the Warner Bros. Television pilot Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea from Chelsea Handler. Koy is a regular on Chelsea Lately.

Two and a Half Men production has been halted for the rest of the season following more breakdowns from star Charlie Sheen.

Fox renewed American Dad through 2013.

Allan Hyde will reprise his role as Godric on HBO’s True Blood.

Lynda Carter on Adrianne Palicki as the new Wonder Woman: ‘I Hope She Kicks Butt!’

Jenna Elfman is in negotiations for the lead in ABC’s comedy pilot Bad Mom.

NBC wants a record $3.5 million for a 30 second commercial in 2012’s Super Bowl.

ABC has finalized a deal to broadcast the Oscars through 2020.
