Jason Isaacs has been cast in the NBC pilot, REM, from Lone Star creator Kyle Killen.
In addition to starring, Isaacs will serve as producer on the project, which is described as an Inception-style thriller centered on a cop who wakes up after an accident to find he is living in two different realities. Issacs plays the cop who can’t let go of any aspect of his fractured family after a car accident.
The casting of Isaacs lifts the contingency on the pilot, run by former 24 showrunner Howard Gordon.
Isaacs was previously on the highly underrated Showtime series Brotherhood with The Chicago Code’s Jason Clarke.
This show sounds intriguing. Isaacs is a fine actor, it just kind of sounds like something that will not do well, especially on NBC, because the stories could become too serialized and convoluted. I’ll definitely give it a shot if/when it airs though.
