Laura Prepon to Play Chelsea Handler in Pilot

laura preponRemember that Chelsea Handler pilot for NBC that we told you about a while back? Well, it seems that the part of Handler has been cast by That 70s Show Lara Prepon.

The show, Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea, centers on Chelsea Hanson, a fresh-faced single cocktail waitress who is highly opinionated and open about her love to drink and have sex. It is based off Handler’s book about her life in her 20s.

While the show could be funny I don’t think I’ll ever get past the casting. Laura Prepon? Really? She was the weakest link on That 70s Show. Her appearances on How I Met Your Mother were horrible. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in anything where she was actually enjoyable to watch.

If the casting wasn’t enough to make you not watch, maybe this next bit of info will steer you clear.

The pilot was written and executive-produced by Dharma & Greg co-creator Dottie Zicklin and Julie Larson. Ah, yes, the groundbreaking comedic stylings of Dharma & Greg. This show has now made my Do Not Watch list.
