Michael Emerson Joins CBS Pilot from J.J. Abrams

michael emersonLost alum Michael Emerson is set as a lead in Jonah Nolan’s CBS pilot Person Of Interest, which is being executive-produced by Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.

The project, directed by Heroes‘ David Semel, is a crime drama centered on an ex-CIA agent/hitman, presumed dead, who teams up with a mysterious billionaire (Emerson) to prevent violent crimes in New York City. According to previous reports, they prevent the crimes before they happen (a la Minority Report?).

Emerson originally reunited with Abrams for a different project, Odd Jobs, with another Lost alum, Terry O’Quinn.

That project landed at NBC in September, but was recently pushed to a later development timetable. If Abrams’ CBS pilot takes off, I’d imagine Odd Jobs would be shelved indefinitely.

Personally, both shows sound interesting. I think I’d rather watch Odd Jobs, just because Terry O’Quinn is a fantastic actor and it would have been great to see him and Emerson back together.
