BBC iPlayer to Cost “Fewer than $10 a Month”

BBC’s iPlayer subscription service for international users will launch for the iPad sometime this year. The cost of the subscription? “Fewer than $10 a month,” says Mark Thompson, director general of the BBC.

What is the iPlayer? Well, the iPlayer is similar to Hulu in America. It allows you to watch the past 7 days of BBC programming but, unlike Hulu, it also allows you to watch live TV.

The service and apps for the iPad and Android devices has already launched in the UK. American fans of BBC programming have been wanting a version to launch in the US for quite some time.
