Weekender: Jackass’ Ryan Dunn, Game of Thrones, Glee and More!

A bit of bad news for Jackass fans broke this morning. Prankster Ryan Dunn was killed early Monday morning as the result of a fatal car crash in West Goshen Township, Pennsylvania. He was 34. His Porsche was said to have traveled 40 yards through trees before becoming engulfed in flames.

What is going to happen to Glee’s seniors? Ryan Murphy says he’s planning for the show’s characters to graduate next season (beginning in fall of 2011).

Starz has greenlighted to series Noir, a live-action adaptation of the 2001 Japanese anime series.

Kyle Howard and Wilmer Valderrama will have recurring roles on USA’s Royal Pains. Howard will recur as Dr. Paul Van Dyke, someone with whom Divya must contend at her new job at Hamptons Heritage. Valderrama will play Eric, an art gallery owner who takes a liking to Paige, professionally and personally.

Sony Pictures Television has sold the CBS comedy Rules of Engagement to local broadcast stations in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago in an off-network syndication deal. This is one of my favorite under the radar comedies, mostly because of the comedic stylings of Patrick Warburton.

Courteney Cox and ex-husband David Arquette are getting into the game show biz. The duo will act as executive producers on the pilot for CBS’ Identity Crisis, where teams of two have to identify names of famous folk. Late Late Show host Craig Ferguson is close to signing on as host.

After the finale to a successful first season, HBO announced that season 2 of Game of Thrones will begin production in July.
