James Spader has officially joined NBC’s The Office.
“James will reprise his role as Robert California, this uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior,” series regular/executive producer Paul Lieberstein (Toby) said in announcing the casting.
There’s a catch though. He’s not going to be the boss of the Scranton branch for long. No, he’s got his sights set a bit higher. Lieberstein explains, “He’ll have been hired over the summer as the new manager, but within hours, got himself promoted. Within days, he took over the company” as the new Sabre CEO.
So it looks like the branch will indeed get another new boss. This time I’m betting they will promote from within. I still say Daryl needs to be the new head of the branch.
