Weekender: Watch New Girl Now, Regis Philbin’s Last Show, HawthoRNe and More!

New Girl, probably the buzziest new sitcom of the fall season, will be available to watch before it premieres. That’s right, Fox is allowing people to watch it early on iTunes, Hulu, Fox.com and star Zooey Deschanel’s site Hello Giggles. It is available on iTunes today and the rest of the outlets will have it beginning next week.

Speaking of New Girl, Katie Cassidy will guest star as a wedding guest who catches the eye of Max Greenfield’s female-challenged Schmidt.

TVLine has a first look at the new season of Storm Chasers. This season looks like it will be a really dangerous one and includes footage from this past April.

Jay Mohr is set to recur on ABC’s Suburgatory. He will play Steve Royce, the absentee husband of Cheryl Hines’ Dallas.

Scott Cohen will guest star on ABC’s Pan Am. The Necessary Roughness Star will play Everett, a Pan Am higher up, for a three-episode arc that will begin during the show’s fourth week.

Erin Cummings has also booked a 3 episode arc on Pan Am. She will play an airline executive’s brassy, quirky fun mistress.

David Cross will recur on Modern Family. He will play city councilman, Duane, who will go toe-to-toe with Claire.

November 18th, 2011 is the last time you’ll see Regis Philbin as host of Live with Regis and Kelly. “Friday, Nov. 18 is my last day,” Philbin said, adding, “But don’t worry, the show goes on.”

The CW has purchased a cop drama project from Homicide team Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson. Musketeers 3.0 revolves around three highly intelligent, out-of-control New York detectives who meet their match when a rookie is assigned to work with them. Decent Premise, horrible name.

SNL vet Molly Shannon will guest host CBS’ The Talk. She will temporarily co-host through the end of September.

Neal McDonough and Cary Elwes will guest-star on TNT’s upcoming new series, Perception. The show stars Eric McCormack as an eccentric neuroscientist/university professor who helps an FBI agent (played by Rachael Leigh Cook) solve criminal cases.

R&B singer Raphael Saadiq has signed on to play the legendary Sam Cooke in an episode of NBC’s The Playboy Club.

TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of the Jada Pinkett Smith medical drama HawthoRNe.

AMC has picked up Secret Stash. The show is set in Kevin Smith’s iconic comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash, and is an unscripted show that focuses on fanboy culture. It is also executive produced by Kevin Smith.
