Two of my favorite shows on cable earned additional seasons this week. HBO has renewed Boardwalk Empire, the drama set in prohibition-era Atlantic City for a third season.
“Following a triumphant first season, I was eager to see what Terry Winter, Martin Scorsese and the rest of their stellar team had in store, and they continue to surpass our highest expectations,” said HBO president Michael Lombardo. “The response from the media and our viewers has been extremely gratifying.”
Over at Syfy, supernatural mystery series Haven has also earned a third season. The show, which is loosely based on the Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid will be back in 2012 for another 13 episodes.
This season of Haven has been great. I’m really happy they renewed it for another season. I was afraid they wouldn’t after hearing that they canceled a season 6 order of Eureka.
