Damon Wayans, Jr. is heading back to New Girl for a season 3 arc.
If you remember, Wayans appeared in the pilot episode as one of the roommates. In a surprise move, ABC decided to renew the low-rated ensemble comedy Happy Endings, which forced Wayans to leave the show. He was written off New Girl and has not appeared on any episodes since the pilot.
Now that Happy Endings has (tragically) been canceled by ABC, Wayans is free to return to the show.
I’m a huge fan of Wayans (and New Girl) and can’t wait to see how they handle his story.
